We appreciate your interest in our puppies! We know that meeting a breeder and seeing where the puppies are raised is important to many families. However, we do not allow potential buyers or visitors to come to our private residence for visits or puppy pickups.
This strict policy is in place for several crucial reasons related to the health, safety, and well-being of our dogs and our family.
1. Protecting Our Puppies from Illness
The health of our puppies is our highest priority, especially during the critical period before they are fully vaccinated. The risk of accidentally introducing a deadly virus, like Canine Parvovirus (Parvo), is too great to ignore.
• Parvo's Persistence: Parvovirus is extremely contagious and can be tragically deadly to young, unvaccinated puppies.
• Easy Transmission: The virus can be easily tracked from one area to the next on clothing, hands, and, most commonly, the soles of shoes.
• Environmental Danger: Parvovirus is highly resilient and can survive and thrive in soil and various environments for years. We take every precaution to maintain a pristine, isolated environment for our litters.
We would never intentionally put our vulnerable puppies in harm's way, and this policy is non-negotiable for their protection.
2. Ensuring the Comfort and Safety of Our Mother Dogs
Unfamiliar visitors can cause severe and unnecessary stress to our new mothers. A mother dog's natural, protective instinct is to guard and defend her puppies from unknown people.
• Stress Management: When strangers are present, the mother perceives a threat, causing her stress and taking her focus away from calmly caring for her litter.
• Post-Surgical Recovery: This is especially critical for new mothers who may have undergone an emergency C-section or need quiet recovery time. We are committed to providing a calm, peaceful environment so they can bond with their babies and heal without anxiety.
We will not compromise a mother dog's mental or physical recovery for a visit.
3. Protecting Our Family's Privacy and Safety
Our home is a private residence, not a retail facility or a public kennel.
• Family Security: As we are a homeschooling family, our young son is home with me 24/7. My husband's work schedule often keeps him away, meaning I must prioritize the safety and privacy of my human child above all else.
• No Solicitation: We do not allow people to our home for our own family's safety and security.
Safe & Convenient Pickup/Meeting Options
To ensure your convenience while maintaining our safety standards, we offer several ways to meet and receive your puppy:
• Complimentary Local Delivery: We offer to meet buyers or potential buyers at a safe, public location in the area. We deliver free of charge to our local mall in Morristown, TN.
• Delivery Service: We are happy to meet you up to one hour closer to your location or at an airport for buyers traveling from a distance.
• Travel Fee: A small travel fee of $50 is charged for this service to cover our time, gas, and tolls.
After reading our comprehensive policy, we sincerely hope you can understand and respect why we cannot host meetings at our home. If you have concerns about the welfare of our animals, please be reassured:
We are a licensed breeder here in East Tennessee, and are happy to provide multiple outstanding references from past puppy owners, our veterinarian, and other members of our community.
We look forward to meeting you at our designated pickup location.
